Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the coaches?

We match you to a coach that can provide you with the expert support you’re looking for. If that means, we need to invite in an outside coach – we will do that!

Who would benefit from accessibility coaching?

Content creators, authors, web designers and developers, accessibility specialists, educators, administrators, instructional designers – just about everyone!

Why would I want coaching?

Coaching helps to increase your knowledge, provide you with expert support, build your self-confidence, and extend your learning – this in turn leads to improved work performance, job satisfaction, and reduces the risk of job burnout.

How will I be paired with a coach?

You will first meet with our Principal Educator to review your accessibility learning needs. You’ll then be paired with a coach or coaches and go over how to schedule your coaching sessions.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

All sessions are virtual. The platform will be determined by you and your coach.

How do coaching sessions work?

All sessions are one-on-one between you and your coach. These sessions are confidential and therefore are not recorded and other people are not invited. This is your opportunity to ask questions, get something explained or demonstrated, ask for advice, etc.

Are there any additional costs?

The only time there might be an additional cost is if the coaching session goes over the agreed amount of time, or you ask your coach to do additional work (i.e., researching, preparation, follow-up tasks, etc.). Then the coach can request an additional fee (in advance), which will be a portion of the overall fee (i.e., 15 minutes of additional work will be 50% of a coaching session).

Can I switch coaches?

Yes! We understand that each coach has an area of specialty. Depending on your needs you may wish to speak with different coaches.

Can I split a 30-minute coaching session into two 15-minute sessions?

No.

Can I group two 30-minute coaching sessions to have a full hour?

That will be at the discretion of the coach.

How do I prove I’m a student?

Students will be required to email via their school email address and show proof of enrollment.

What if I can’t afford the fee?

Please contact us and let us know your personal situation. We will consider a discount on a case-by-case basis.

What if I need to cancel my scheduled coaching session?

We ask you to provide 48 hours of notice when cancelling or rescheduling.

Can an organization purchase accessibility coaching?

Yes! We just ask that at the time of booking you identify the name, job title, and email address of the individual(s) who will be scheduling the sessions.

Will organizations pay for their staff to receive accessibility coaching?

Yes! Often individuals have professional development funds they can use to purchase coaching sessions.
