Certificate Course

Websites for All: The inclusive web project

A series of modules designed to introduce new web content developers to the concepts of usability and accessibility.

The certificate course includes:

  • 1-hour synchronous meeting with instructor(s) to set customized learning outcomes specific to organization, introduce modules, review how to apply the learning content to organization’s website, review assignment.
  • 3-hour asynchronous learning via modules. 1) Introduction to web accessibility, 2) Vision and hearning (how people hear and see information on a website), 3) Web accessibility tips & tricks (introducing tools).
  • 2-hour synchronous meeting with instructor(s) to review the assignment, discuss further learning, reviewing organization’s website, and Q&A.

Cost: $800 / participant

Workshop

Accessibility for Content Authors

We will be delivering a ½ day workshop (3 hours) on Accessibility for Content Authors.

The learning objectives:

  • An overview of provincial, national, and international legislative standards.
  • A general understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) success criteria for people that produce content.
  • An understanding of the core techniques for producing accessible content.
  • An introduction and hands-on opportunities using tools to help make content more accessible.
  • Opportunities to ask questions and get support with specific challenges.

Cost: $500 / participant
